McVey noted that “the review and documentation process is substantial, and took about a year to complete.” Chamber President Jennifer McDonald said the elements that secured the local organization the improved ranking included the presence of an excellent Marketing & Communications Plan, the Chamber’s significant and documented efforts in advocating for the business community, and successful efforts to diversify and increase non-dues revenue sources. </span></div>

The result of our on-going hard work and thorough documentation is evidenced by this impressive rating. Our entire organization, and each one of our members, should be extraordinarily proud of this milestone achievement. It was a true team effort. <i>After 12 years Hottinger seeks different
role in Licking County business community<o:p></o:p></i></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
The Licking
County Chamber of Commerce today announced President & CEO Cheri Hottinger
has submitted her resignation, effective September 30, 2016. The Board of
Directors accepted her resignation, with regret, at a special board meeting
held on August 24, 2016. Hottinger led the Chamber for 12 years and played a
key role in its membership growth and accreditation from the US Chamber of
Commerce. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
Hottinger
cited a desire for a new professional challenge and an opportunity to use and
grow her business skills in a different way <a href="https://www.blogger.com/null" name="_GoBack"></a>as the reason
for ending her tenure as Chamber president. “Although I have thoroughly enjoyed
my time at the Chamber, I know it is time for me to pursue other interests and
opportunities within Licking County,” Hottinger said. “I chose this time to take
the next step in my career because the Chamber is running smoothly. We are at
the top of our game right now. I know I am leaving it in very good hands – the
Chamber has a very talented team and is supported by a dedicated Board of
Directors. The Chamber is in a great position to continue its successful
service to our community.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
Highlights
from Hottinger’s career at the Chamber include a growth in membership from 490
to 1550 and earning Accreditation from the US Chamber of Commerce. Only 3% of chambers of commerce across the
nation earn this distinction. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
Hottinger
plans to join The Park National Bank, where she once worked in the past. “I am
grateful and excited to be able to continue using my talent and experience with
local businesses as part of a local company who is headquartered in downtown
Newark.”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
Licking
County Chamber Chairman Luke Baus said, “The Board recognizes the considerable
value that Cheri has brought to the Chamber over the past twelve years. She has
worked tirelessly to make the Chamber what it is today, and we greatly
appreciate her devotion and leadership. We wish her all the best in this next
phase of her career."</div>
<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 8pt;">
The Board of
Directors has formed a search committee, led by Chamber Board Chair-Elect Dan
McVey, to seek out potential replacements for Hottinger.</div>

The Chamber, in

classes that are being offered:</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><u>Situational Leadership II (SLII) Concepts </u></b> -Sept 11, 2015 - 4 hours (8:00 - 12:00)
Situational Leadership II (SLII) is a proven leadership model that was designed
by Ken Blanchard in the 1960’s.
Thousands of leaders throughout the world continue to use the SLII model
as a guide for effective leadership.
SLII provides a model for building leadership and shared processes to
effectively lead individuals and teams. This is not a “one size fits all”
approach. This is a leadership process
that provides leaders with the tools to be flexible with a diverse group of
colleagues, in various situations.
Leadership is something you do “with” people…not “to” them. Each leader will complete a Leadership
Behavioral Assessment (LBA) to determine their current effectiveness and
flexibility as a leader. The course
allows for practice in the skills presented, and provides tools and templates
for one-on-one conversations. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><u>Communication
Styles and Leadership Effectiveness </u></b>– Oct. 30, 2015 4 hours (8:00 -
12:00 It is important for leaders to understand how their natural communication
style can be most effective with the individuals and teams they lead. The Social Styles Communication assessment is
a time tested communication style tool that provides insight, in a detailed
report, about the leader’s preferred communication style. We take the results of this assessment and
connect them with the SLII model to understand how human behavior and personal
chemistry enhance work relationships. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><u>Giving Feedback</u></b> - Jan. 8, 2016 -4 hours (8:00 - 12:00)
Feedback is the breakfast of champions…and many of us aren’t used to giving or
receiving feedback that results in improved behavior and relationships. Feedback takes practice. If we don’t use proper techniques and
exercise those muscles regularly, we will injure our business and personal
productivity and relationships.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<b><u>Handling Conflict</u></b>
– Mar. 4, 2016 -4 hours (8:00 - 12:00) Conflict is a normal and natural part of
any relationship. Conflict resolution is
both a skill and an art. This session
will focus on the important steps toward conflict resolution. There will be time to discuss typical
workplace conflicts, and practice navigating these challenges in a small group
setting.</div>

<br />
I know there are people out there who want to help make a difference to others but are not sure where to start. Well, I have just the project for you.<br />
<br />
Here is the summary: The YES Club, an after school program for economically disadvantaged youth ages 11 to 18, would like to be able to install solar panels on their rooftop. A grassroots organization calling themselves YES for Solar is undertaking a fundraising campaign to make this happen. The 48 solar panels will cost around $30,000 and after a month of fundraising, they are half-way to their goal. If successful, the YES Club will be able to save approximately $42,000 in savings over 25 years, the life of the panels. <br />
The YES Club is under the umbrella of Mental Health America of Licking County, a non-profit organization which pays for some of the operating overhead of the YES Club.<br />
<br />
This is a wonderful community project that you can be a part of! Small or large monetary gifts are needed. Here are some options for you to consider:<br />
<br />
* Nuts and bolts (any amount)<br />
* Direct current optimizers $60<br />
* Structural supports -infrastructure $100<br />
* Solar panel $250<br />
* Complete solar panel package $400<br />
* DC/AC inverter $1,000<br />
<br />
I was told that if you want your donation to be used to purchase a solar panel, you will be given a number and will be able to track the kilowatt energy produced for that panel, which is too cool!<br />
<br />
Giving is easy! Donate online through the<a href="http://www.thelcfoundation.org/funds-giving/giving/donate.html"> Licking County Foundation </a> Click on Donate Now and indicate "Yes for Solar".<br />
<br />
You can also send your gift to the Licking County Foundation, P.O. Box 4212, Newark, OH 43058-4212. Checks to be made payable to the Licking County Foundation and are tax deductible.<br />
<br />
You can get details on the project<a href="http://lcconcernedcitizens.org/yes-for-solar"> here.</a><br />
<br />
I know we can meet the goal, so please consider a donation today!<br />
<br />
Thank you!<br />
