Today the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) pulled Issue 4 (mandatory paid sick leave) from the November ballot. This is a huge victory for the business community and for the State of Ohio.
For those of us in the economic development profession, we can breath a sigh of relief - for now. It makes our job much more difficult to promote Ohio as a great place to do business when we have things like Issue 4 working against us. It really isn't hard to understand that when we have good, solid businesses here, everyone wins - the companies, the employees and the communities.
