CycLicking the Newark Earthworks


Come join us for a relaxing 5.5 mile bicycle ride while we visit the pre-historic sites of the Newark Earthworks. We will depart Cherry Valley Elementary parking lot at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28th and proceed to the Octagon where the first narration will begin at 6:15. Narrations will be led by local historical interpreters Bill and Pat Weaver. From there the tour will progress to sites like The Great Ellipse, The Great Circle, Wright Memorial, and several sites in-between. Information will be presented about the Hopewell peoples architectural mounds, tools, rituals, artifacts, geographic locations, commerce, and lineage. The ride is for all ages and admission is free.    CycLicking the Newark Earthworks t-shirts will be available at the Convention and Visitors Bureau Museum, located at the Great Circle, the cost is only $5 per shirt.
