to Run for The Roses
Derby-Themed Networking Event to Take Place May 8, at Cherry Valley Lodge
Newark, OH - The Licking County Chamber of Commerce is throwing a party, and is inviting area businesses, and the entire Licking County community, to take part. The Chamber’s Annual BizFest and Taste of Licking County will take place Thursday, May 8, from 4:00 to 8:00, at Cherry Valley Lodge, 2299 Cherry Valley Road, Newark. This year’s event is taking on a “Kentucky Derby” theme, with decorations, dress, and refreshments reflecting the iconic race event.
“This is a signature event for the Chamber. It is a great opportunity for member businesses to showcase themselves and their services to other members, and to the general public in an exciting, fun atmosphere,” said Cheri Hottinger, Licking County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. “It’s also a wonderful chance for the general public to learn more about the great businesses we have in Licking County, and enjoy an evening of fun and refreshments.”
Texas Roadhouse, Allison’s Pub & Grub, Elements Bistro, Knuckleheads Sandwich & Ice Cream Shop, and The Crazy Kernel Kettle Corn Company are among the area restaurants that will provide free samples for the BizFest and Taste of Licking County. The event also features drawings for prizes, free give-away items courtesy of participating businesses, a silent auction, and other fun promotions.
Nearly 50 businesses will exhibit at this year’s Derby Day BizFest and Taste of Licking County. Participants include area restaurants, retail companies, professional service providers, and manufacturers. “We’re very pleased and excited about the mix of Chamber members who are exhibiting at this year’s BizFest. It is a great mix of our community’s businesses, and both our members and the public can gain some real insight and business opportunities,” Hottinger noted.
